Halloween at Smoochie Baby!
Spooky season is finally upon us! Time for carving Jack-o-lanterns, lots of candy, and, of course, Smoochie Baby’s annual Halloween party! If you've been a follower of Smoochie Baby for some time then you know that we take Halloween very seriously… With that being said, our annual Halloween party will continue on Halloween day this year! Tuesday, October 31 from 4 to 6 PM show up at Smoochie Baby as your favorite characters and join us for the best candy in the neighborhood, family friendly live music from Kyle Tigges, bubbly, and fun giveaways! While you wait for our party, there are lots of other neighborhood events happening in the meantime to get you and your family into the Halloween spirit! Below find a list of a few community events we are most excited to attend in the coming weeks.
The Rock and Roll Playhouse Halloween Spectacular
Our favorite live music venue for kids, The Rock n Roll Playhouse at Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, is having a Halloween Spectacular! On Sunday, October 29th they will be hosting a fun seasonal party playing spooky and fun musical classics like The Monster Mash. Doors open at 11am, and the show starts at 12pm. Tickets are $16 (children under 1 enter for free), with part of the proceeds supporting Trick or Treat for UNICEF. Put on a costume and some dancing shoes and enjoy the party!
Spooky Story Time with the Brooklyn Public Library
Head down to South Williamsburg for a spooky story time celebration fit for the whole family! On Saturday, October 28th, The Brooklyn Public Library will be setting up shop in the Naval Cemetery Landscape for a morning of sharing stories, songs, and rhymes, all in the spirit of Halloween! The Naval Cemetery is the perfect space for this event as this now beautiful park, plant meadow, and pollinator habitat was once a Naval Hospital Cemetery from 1831 to 1910. Who knows, maybe you will even encounter some friendly ghouls during story time! This event is free for all who wish to attend and will start at 10:30 AM. It is recommended that you register in advance to reserve your spot.
Halloween at The Brooklyn Children’s Museum
Last but not least, on Saturday, October 28, head on down to The Brooklyn Children’s Museum in Crown Heights for a day filled with Halloween fun! From the times 10 AM - 12:30 PM, 1 - 3:30 PM, and 4 - 6:30 PM you can expect a variety of Halloween related events happening around the museum. Whether it's trick-or-treating around the exhibits, playing with creepy crawlers and animals, or seeing a free screening of the Muppets Haunted Mansion, you can expect to have lots of fun! Stick around for the dance party on the rooftop as well! Tickets are $15 and costumes are encouraged.
October is a great month to explore all that Brooklyn has to offer in terms of fun community events! From concerts to museums, libraries, and everything in between, there are so many things to do to get in the Halloween spirit. While we still have a few weeks until Halloween, we cannot wait to see you all at our party! Until then, enjoy all that Brooklyn has to offer.
